Selenite block lamps are crafted from a form of gypsum with a distinct crystalline structure. They have become known for their aesthetic qualities, offering a soft, ethereal glow that can transform any space into a serene and calming environment.

Renowned for their translucence, selenite lamps allow light to pass through to create their signature glow, which is not dissimilar to the illumination provided by the full moon.

The photographs do not do these pieces justice, but there is a reason for this. Selenite is a translucent mineral and the the design is carved onto the outer surface, but because the design isn’t coloured, the contrast between the design and the background is minimal. When a light is placed inside, the translucent nature of the selenite means that the contrast is reduced further, and the finer detail is bleached out of the photographs. Your eyes do not work like camera lenses, and a light in the translucent block of selenite turns it into something similar to soft moonlight.
